I am Liam, and I am the arcade and retro guy. I am the one on the team always insisting that a game from 1982 can still be better than half of what came out last year. Nobody fought me on getting to cover the classics, so here I am.
On Games Mostly I write about arcade and retro games, both the originals and the modern revivals that capture that one-more-go feeling. I care about the things that made these games great: tight controls, instant restarts, and a high-score loop that quietly dares you to keep playing. I play every one until my thumbs hurt before it earns a spot in a review.
Snake, brick-breakers, and anything with a leaderboard are my natural habitat, and I take my high scores far too seriously. I love that these games ask nothing of you but a few minutes and your full attention. If there is an arcade classic or a great retro remake we have somehow missed, that is basically a personal insult, so please tell me and I will fix it.
